Moville native Arthur McGuinness has become the thirteenth candidate to put themselves forward for the 2020 General Election in Donegal.
McGuinness, running as an Independent, filed his nomination papers on Monday.
McGuinness has contested in general elections and local elections in the past. In May 2019 he secured 54 first preference votes in the Carndonagh Electoral Area.
In his manifesto, McGuinness states that unemployment, long waiting lists and overcrowding in hospitals are among his top priorities.
Locally, he said he will lobby for the development of Moville Community College and for reduced rates for small industries.
“If elected to Dail Eireann, I will fight for Donegal,” McGuinness writes.
“I will fight for those people whose houses are affected by Mica. I will prioritise the fishing industry, especially Greencastle and Killybegs ports.
“Our farmers are protesting about beef prices and I will support them in that.
“I will lobby for the protection of Five Fingers Stran and to improve the roads at Knocknamany Bends and the Inishowen 100.
“I will campaign for more Respite Homes and for fairer Property Tax and Tax bands.”
