Bluebird Care Donegal, celebrating 10 years in business, provide support with safe, quality patient centred care within homes and in the community.
Founded by Marty Kelly, native of Glencar in Letterkenny with a professional background in nursing and occupational health and safety management, the organisation has grown to care for over 400 clients and employees 120 professional caregivers and nurses across Donegal.
Marty noticed a gap in the market for a homecare business, he completed a business course and was awarded grants from the Local Enterprise Board. Without this support and assistance it would have been very difficult to get the business off the ground.
Through his determination Bluebird Care began life in December 2009. Marty said “I would like to extend a special thanks to both Michael Tunney and Ursula Donnelly (Local Enterprise Office) and also Margaret Devenney (FAS) who helped greatly with staff employment and training requirements in the early years.”
