Donegal County Council has reiterated its warning to the public as Storm Brendan approaches.
Gusts of up to 130kph could hit Donegal overnight from 5am.
A severe Orange weather warning has been issued as a result.
There is a significant risk of coastal flooding due to the combination of high spring tides and storm surge.
Donegal Town pier will close from 6pm as a precaution.
Gardai and the council have warned people not to talk near coastal areas, especially cliffs.
Those driving overnight or early tomorrow morning are also asked to take extra care for falling trees, etc.
The wind warning will remain in place until 9pm tomorrow evening.
The orange status warning is in place for the entire West coast from Donegal down to Kerry.
