Hundreds are expected to attend the funeral of Mary Ellen Molloy who was killed in a freak accident in Australia.
The much-loved 26-year-old nurse died on December 20th when a large branch fell from a tree onto her taxi in Melbourne.
The young nurse was killed while another one of her friends was injured and a third escaped without injury.
Mary Ellen’s remains arrived in her native Ardara shortly before 2am yesterday and hundreds of people have attended her wake which started at 1pm yesterday.
She is survived by her parents Terence and Angela, brothers John Ross and Karl Joseph, grandmother Mary Angela, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and her many friends.
Her funeral mass will take place today at 12 noon in the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Mourners are advised that there will be parking facilities at the Chapel Car Park, John Molloy’s Knitwear and Larry Snacks (Killybegs Road, Ardara). Buses will be provided and mourners are asked to please avail of this service.
