Fundraiser – Thanks
Betty Mc Clintock would like to thank everyone who donated to the Alzheimer’s home care Donegal branch on the occasion of her special birthday. The amount raised was €2,100. Sincere thanks to everyone who gave so generously!

Raphoe Family Resource Centre provides computer and internet access, photocopying, CV preparation and weekly employment lists via email. Christmas Disco!
Raphoe Family Resource Centre will hold its Christmas Disco on Friday 13th December 2019 in the Presbyterian Hall from 7PM – 8.30PM. DJ Marty will be spinning the tunes and Santa himself may make an appearance!! Also some special guests have been invited!!! Should be a good night’s fun for all the family. This is a family event and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone welcome!
Toddler Group
Little Smiles with Big Dreams Toddler Group will meet every Thursday from 10.30am to 12noon in the Presbyterian Hall, Meetinghouse Street, Raphoe. Anyone who is in the care of a child parent(s)/guardian/aunt/uncle/child-minder or grandparent is welcome. Toddler groups are a great way to enhance your little one’s confidence and meet others of similar age. A light snack is provided for the kids while adults can enjoy a wee cuppa and chat! Cost €2 per family.
Raphoe Boxing Club
A sincere thanks to local footballers “The Gym Gang” for their very generous sponsorship that helped the local boxing club install CCTV at the boxing club and this system also covers the children’s play park and houses at the bottom of St. Eunans Terrace and is greatly appreciated by all at the boxing club. Raphoe schoolgirl kingpin Georgia Mae Doherty secured her third title of the season when she was crowned Ulster 9 County Open Champion Girl One at 33KG’s in Derry on Saturday last. Raphoe’s 48KG’s schoolboy puncher Ryley Doherty featured in the 9 County Championship final in Derry on Sunday last and he turned in a very impressive display of ring-craft only to lose out to Belfast’s Jude Molyneaux on a 3/2 split decision.
Helping Hands Scheme
Do you live alone or are no longer in a position, due to age or disability, to carry out odd jobs? Raphoe Family Resource Centre, supported by DLDC Tus Scheme have a helping hands project were odd jobs can be carried out such as grass cutting, path clearing, tidy ups, painting etc. Only outdoor work is permitted. Raphoe Walking Group
Raphoe Walking Group meet every Thursday morning at 10.30am, here in the FRC. Come along and join the group for a walk and a cuppa!!
Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch. Are you interested in up skilling? Would you like to learn about computers?
Are you from the Raphoe area? Donegal ETB will be starting a beginner’s computer course on Tuesday 24th September from 10am-1pm in the Volt House, Raphoe. On this course you will build your knowledge and skills, and gain more confidence in working with computers. This is a part-time course, free of charge and delivered to small groups in a relaxed atmosphere. Raphoe Friday Club
The Friday Club meets every Friday morning in the Volt House from 10.30am-12.30. We would like more in our community to come along and be a part of the Group. Refreshments are also provided. Transport is available on Friday mornings and if you require this please phone 0749145462 and arrange.
