DONEGAL HURLER Sean McVeigh is aiming to make 2020 a ‘bounce back’ year for the Tir Chonaill men.
Having been relegated in the League and dropping back to Nicky Rackard Cup level following a first-ever experience of the Christy Ring competition in 2019, McVeigh says Donegal are looking to right some wrongs next year.
“It’s a tough learning curve,” McVeigh told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub at the launch of the new Donegal jersey this week.
“You find those things out the hard way. We are in Division 3 and the Nicky Rackard now and we have to do what we can to get up again.”
Donegal won promotion in 2018 and went on to clinch the Nicky Rackard Cup for the second time. However, they dropped back again this year.
McVeigh said: “When you look at it coldly, we were relegated in both competitions. As good as performances were on a lot of occasions, we’re down and we really have to try to put that right.
“We brought a lot of young lads through. It just didn’t go our way even though we had put ourselves into a lot of winning positions.”
