The following is community notes:
October has been a busy month for the group when we held a fundraising session for Donegal Hospice in McBrides, Castlefinn on Saturday 12th October.
CRAIC would like to thank all the sponsors who help us provide amazing raffle prizes, and all the businesses who prepared refreshments and supported the event. We had a large turnout of musicians from Plumbridge, Killea, Strabane, Dungiven, Doneyloop to name a few. After a hugely successful we raised a total of €1025. Great work everyone!
Our next main October event was our annual Johnny Crampsie Weekend which was held this year on Saturday 26th October in the Stables Inn, Strabane.
Taking a different format this year CRAIC held a session comprising of some of the best local talent from Strabane & Lifford areas.
The event was well attended & CRAIC were delighted with our special guests for the event, the multi-talented, John & Sheila McElhinney from the Haw.
A huge thanks to them for adding such a variety to the session including Irish Traditional, American, Country & Swing.
This was a very fitting act to remember the late virtuoso Johnny Crampsie. Thanks to the Stables for taking the Events, to those who helped with refreshments & to everyone who supported us once again this year.
CRAIC November event ‘TRAD FOR TROCAIRE’ will take place on Sunday 17th November 5-8pm in MKs Bar, Derry Road Strabane. All Welcome.
