Donegal’s Margo O’Donnell has been honoured by the people of Tipperary for her 55 years of contributions to Irish Country Music.
The Queen of Country Music enjoyed many proud moments on Wednesday as she was invited to a mayoral reception with Tipperary County Council.
Mayor of Clonmel Garret Ahearn bestowed the honour on Margo in the presence of her friends, fans and other Irish Country stars Trudi Lalor and Brendan Shine.
After 55 years in show businesses, the singer knows how to enthral a room and she sang the Ballad of James Connolly in the Clonmel Town Hall – the same building where Connolly founded the Labour Party in 1912.
The reception was held before the final concert of Margo’s tour, which took place at Clonmel Park Hotel.
