Letterkenny Rovers manager Anthony Gorman says his team had to ‘earn the right to play’ before overcoming Bonagee United in last night’s John Gorey Curran Cup semi-final.
Rovers overcame their derby rivals 5-2 at Dry Arch Park on a night when Jack Dwyer and Tobi Akinyimika netted a brace each and Caolan McConnell also netted.
“It was a cracking game,” Gorman told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We had to earn the right to play and it took us half-an-hour to win the battle. We had to work hard and we played most of the game then in Bonagee’s half. It was still a difficult game.”
