LETTERKENNY Institute of Technology will hope to get their Higher Education League term off to a belated start this evening.
LyIT are set to face Queen’s University at the Donegal GAA Training Centre at 7.30pm.
LyIT, managed by Donegal captain Michael Murphy, were left frustrated last week when floodlight failure at The Scarvey resulted in the cancellation of their game against Ulster University, Jordanstown.
The Port Road students will have to play their rescheduled game against UU next week, but have to forego home advantage, while they are also pencilled in for an away game against St Mary’s College.
Last year, LyIT won Division 2, beating Dundalk in the final and they also overcame DkIT in the Trench Cup final.
LyIT will be without the likes of John Campbell, Darach O’Connor (Buncrana), Eoin McGettigan, Ultan Doherty (Naomh Conaill) and Ethan Harkin (Gaoth Dobhair) due to various club commitments.
Murphy spoke about preparations on ‘The Championship’ two weeks ago…
