MICHAEL CARROLL says Gaoth Dobhair’s players aren’t taking things for granted.
Carroll was part of a golden generation who came up the ranks of a new underage system at the club.
A key part of the Dr Maguire-winning side of last year, Carroll is gunning to get his paws on the silverware in Sunday’s county final against Naomh Conaill.
“You have to appreciate these days,” Carroll said.
“There was a barren spell of about 40 years before ’02 and you don’t appreciate it until you chat to older lads in the club. We’ve had a lot of big days since we came into senior so hopefully we can keep it going.
“We had a very good underage team with Tom Beag (Gillespie) and it’s come to fruition now at senior level over the last two or three years.”
