Caolan McGonagle dedicated Buncrana’s Junior A glory to manager Malachy McCann.
Buncrana pulled away from Letterkenny Gaels in stoppage time in yesterday’s final after overcoming a four-point deficit at half-time. A dominant second half, in which McGonagle was influential for the victors, fired Buncrana to success.

“It’s so important,” McGonagle told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.
“The whole county was chatting about us being hot favourites. We went in there with big pressure and it’s just relief to get over the line.
“When we got relegated last year, no man took it more to heart than Malachy McCann. We felt we owed Malachy McCann one. He puts so much into this club and we’re just so happy to get over the line for him.”
