Donegal hotelier and showbiz personality Noel Cunningham is today celebrating the launch of his book – Noel Cunningham’s Guide to Modern Irish Manners.
As the General Manager of Harvey’s Point, Noel is a familiar face in the hospitality and entertainment sector. Now, he has turned his hand to writing to share his knowledge of etiquette with the world.
Born in Kilcar, Noel was taught from a young age, both at home and at school, that ‘manners will bring you around the world’.
He has rubbed shoulders with royalty, film stars, world leaders, and people from all walks of life. And he believes that good manners act as a springboard to success in all areas of life.
Noel’s practical guide to modern manners mixes his wit with old-fashioned etiquette to give people advice on every situations – from what to wear for occasions, to mobile phone use, to first dates, special ceremonies, common courtesies and even wakes and funerals.
Speaking to Donegal Daily, Noel said: “I’m very excited about my book, it’s a guide to modern manners. It’s fun, it’s not stodgy, it’s not preachy. But I believe that manners matter, for interviews, for life in general for those special occasions and every detail from the cradle to the grave is covered in my book.
“So, if you were organising your wedding it’s the perfect book. I even talk about funerals and christenings. It’s a magical little book that will live and last for years and years, so go out and buy it.”
He adds: “This book aims to be an informative and entertaining guide to modern etiquette and good manners – to help us know what to do in all social situations. After all, manners can bring us around the world – in style.”
Noel Cunningham’s Guide to Modern Irish Manners is available in book shops now and also as an eBook online at www.obrien.ie
