ON A DAY when margins were as thin as could be expected, Martin Regan felt his Naomh Conaill team showed their worth as they edged out St Eunan’s to scrape into the SFC final.
“It was fine margins,” a relieved Regan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“On another day, we could have lost that game by a point. These games have been nip-and-tuck for ten years. We’re delighted to get over the line.”
McGeehan rocked Naomh Conaill when he finished from close range 12 minutes into the second half, but Naomh Conaill rolled their sleeves up and booked a place in their third successive final.
Regan said: “Our response to the goal was brilliant. We responded really, really well and we dug in. Maybe the hurt from the last two years just saw us over the line at the end up.
“Our young lads have really stepped up.”
