1,022 complaints of environmental pollution have been investigated by Donegal County Council this year so far.
The complaints have resulted in 303 enforcement actions being issued against people or businesses who were causing problems.
Pollution issues centre around fly-tipping, illegal dumping, water pollution, domestic wastewater treatment system problems, noise, backyard burning and other breaches.
The figures were released to Cllr Gerry Crawford this week. They also show that 1,020 reports of pollution were received by the council in 2018 and 1334 were closed out, which included reports from the previous year. 399 enforcement actions were initiated in 2018.
Donegal County Council records all complaints and reports, which are reported to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) each year.
