DONEGAL MASTERS manager Val Murray paid tribute to his All-Ireland champions.
Murray’s men defeated Dublin 0-9 to 0-7 in today’s final, played in County Roscommon.
Five points by Man of the Match Michael Ward aided Donegal’s cause greatly and they held off a Dublin comeback with a superb second-half display.
“It’s great for these boys,” Murray beamed as he spoke with Ocean FM’s Paddy McGill.
“They got their reward. They put in the work all year. Days like this don’t come around too often in Donegal so it’s great.
“It’s great for these boys still playing football in their 40s. Some of these boys might not have played before, but to put on the county jersey and win something…this competition is getting bigger with 16 teams now.
“It’s for them. They’re able to do it and it’s a great honour to win it.”
