MICHAEL MURPHY was named on the 2019 Sunday Game Team of the Year last night.
The Donegal captain is the sole inclusion from the Ulster champions with the Glenswilly man selected at right half-forward by the panel.
Murphy had a stellar summer for Donegal with a super display against Tyrone in the Ulster semi-final among his highlights.
Murphy led the way in a Super 8 win over Meath and it was the skipper who drove Donegal in an epic draw with Kerry at Croke Park.
There are seven players from Dublin – who defeated Kerry in yesterday’s All-Ireland final replay at Croke Park – included in the Team of the Year. Among them is Con O’Callaghan, who the panel selected as the Footballer of the Year.
Kerry’s David Clifford was the panel’s pick for the Young Player of the Year.
In all, there are seven players from Dublin, three from Kerry and two apiece from Tyrone and Mayo, as well as Murphy.
