AFTER SCORING 4-5 in Sunday’s Donegal Ladies SFC final, Geraldine McLaughlin praised her Termon team-mates.
McLaughlin lit the touch paper with a five-star showing.
A masterclass from the Donegal star fired Termon to a first county title in four years, but McLaughlin wasn’t exactly basking in her own glow.
“It was the hard work of the team,” McLaughlin said.
“They put the ball in, I just turned and shot. Luckily they went in
“It was a team effort. Girls were throwing themselves at footballs and making blocks. You see girls like Aoibhe McDaid breaking up the field, it was just class.”
Glenfin had beaten Termon two weeks ago and rattled them on Sunday all the way, with only two points between them at the finish.
McLaughlin said: “To get it back, we knew it would be a tight game. We knew we had to lift it – and by God we did.
“We always knew it would be tough. It always is against Glenfin.”
