A new initiative by ShopLk will have coffee drinkers sipping in style with their own reusable cups.
The Letterkenny Chamber has launched a ‘Go Green’ environmental campaign to give branded reusable travel cups to the public with the aim of reducing waste in the town.
The #GoGreen travel cups will be distributed to businesses, to coffee enthusiasts and to the public.
The campaign will encourage customers to bring their own reusable cups to coffee shops, filling stations and other outlets selling their favourite hot drink, to promote environmental awareness among local businesses and the community.
In partnership with Letterkenny Tidy Towns, Go Green will play its part in keeping Letterkenny tidy, encouraging customers to #GoGreen in their everyday lives and promoting Letterkenny as a greener retail destination. The Go Green campaign will involve some exciting events, collaborations and competitions over the coming months.
Leonard Watson, President of Letterkenny Chamber supporting the initiative said “We’re very excited here at Letterkenny Chamber to be launching the Go Green campaign. Cafes are springing up everywhere around town and with that we have seen an increase in the amount of people having tea and coffee to go!
“The amount of single use cups is having a negative effect on our environment locally, nationally and globally. If we can help to encourage people to make the simple change to reusable cups, together we can help our environment! We are pleased to be working alongside Letterkenny Tidy Towns, in our bid to reduce waste and to keep our town tidy!”
