LETTERKENNY ROVERS manager Eamonn McConigley insists the USL side have no fear of UCD ahead of their FAI Senior Cup clash at Belfield on Sunday.
Rovers are back in pre-season around a month ahead of the new USL season, which kicks off in early September.
Rovers, last season’s USL runners-up, have lost Conor Tourish and Brian McVeigh, while Christy Connaghan could also be on his way. However, the Cathedral Town side have added Emmet Friars and Gary Merritt to their ranks as they go to the capital bidding for a Cup upset against the Premier Division strugglers.
“They’re two grades above us, but they’ve had a topsy-turvy season,” McConigley said.
“We don’t have any fear. Why should we? We’re going up there to have a go.
“There is no pressure on, but we have to go there in the right frame of mind. We’ll see where we are for the start of our season and it’s something to look forward to.
“We’re as ready as we’re going to be.”
