New car stickers have been launched in memory of the late Manus ‘Mandy’ Kelly in support of his beloved charity – Donegal Down Syndrome.
The stickers, created by Paddy McLaughlin at Signz Donegal, were created with permission from the Kelly Family in honour of Manus, who tragically died while competing in the Donegal International Rally in June.
Proceeds from the memorabilia will be donated to Donegal Down Syndrome – a charity which was close to Manus’ heart.
The sticker launch was met with overwhelming demand on Thursday night with orders flooding in from all over the world. The packs sold out within hours as hundreds of people visited eBay to buy a piece of memorabilia to remember the three-time rally champion.
Paddy has said that sales will reopen again soon, as soon as the website will allow it.
Signz Donegal was the company that created a touching memorial design for Manus’ Subaru Impreza WRC in the days following his death. The car was driven by Declan Boyle on the day of Manus’ funeral to lead the cortège through Glenswilly.
“We’ve been asked since day one to do something for him (Manus), so we looked into making the stickers public,” Paddy said.
“We got approval from Bernie and the family to launch the stickers. We wanted to do it through a charity too. Donegal Down Syndrome is a great cause and Manus was always very supportive of them.”
Paddy has advised those who want to buy the sticker sets, which are priced €12 for two, to keep an eye on the Signz Facebook page and eBay account for new sales releases.
