Donegal’s Oakfield Park is celebrating its 280th anniversary this year. As part of the year-long celebrations, the well-loved park will play host to Live Music In The Lakeside Marquee, overlooking the Castle Folly this Sunday, 28th July.
Donegal based four-piece band, In Their Thousands, will headline the family and music event with a two-hour set from 3.30 to 5.30pm and support comes from local singer-songwriter, Dean Maywood who will kick-off proceedings at 2.30pm in the stretch tent marquee.
As well as the live music event, this Sunday also marks the park’s monthly Steam Sunday which runs from 11am to 6pm. Visitors can step aboard the famous Oakfield Park, Duchess of Difflin, heritage steam engine and take in the stunning views of the park.

There is no extra costs for attending this event and our normal entry fees apply. The park is open from 11am – 6pm daily for the summer and we hope everyone has a great day on Sunday. It promises to be a great day.”
For the 280th celebrations this Sunday, families can also enjoy free face-painting, nature trails and arts and crafts. There will be a beer tent and tea van at the music marquee and the park’s restaurant, Buffers will be open all day serving Sunday Lunches, light bites and snacks. Families are also welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the gardens.
