Donegal County Councillor Niamh Kennedy has called for two workshops to give representatives information on two pressing issues in the county.
Clarity is needed on 5G and mining licences in Donegal, the Leas Cathaoirleach has said.
Cllr Kennedy has asked the executive to hold a workshop for councillors to gain an understanding of the 5G network roll-out.
“I think there is a lot of people who are quite concerned, and maybe there is no reason to be,” Cllr Kennedy said.
Another workshop was requested on mining in areas such as the Sperrins.
“A number of meetings were held throughout the county and they were well-attended,” Cllr Kennedy said. Cllr Kennedy added that councillors should be informed on the matter to answer public concerns.
Meanwhile, Clare County Council has opposed the roll-out of 5G in the county and called on CommReg to deny licensing for its roll-out.
The Clare County Council is calling on the Minister for Communication, Climate Change and the Environment to establish a working group to establish the facts about the radiation impact of 5G on the environment and human health.
