A quantity of computer chips stolen from Letterkenny Institute of Technology have been forfeited to the State.
A man was found in possession of the chips but could not tell Gardai where he got them chips from.
Staff at LYIT could not determine if they were the same chips stolen in the robbery from the college campus.
The teams were part of a police property act case at today’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Judge Paul Kelly said that because the chips could not be properly identified he was giving an order for them to be forfeited to the State.
