A unique fundraising event in aid of ‘Smile for Jasmine’ is being organised and the ‘save the date’ is 21st of September 2019.
Jasmine McMonagle, a 27-year-old mother of two, died at her home in Killygordan in January leaving behind a heartbroken family.
Now the local community has come together to help her family try to pick up the pieces following this awful tragedy.
The ‘Mock’ wedding ceremony and reception will be held in the Banjo Tavern, Castlefin, a first of its kind for the town.
The committee have already been inundated with kind and generous sponsorship from a variety of businesses from the wedding cake, car hire, food for the reception, champagne reception, a variety of vouchers and personal donations from many individuals also wanting to show support.
The ‘bride’ is Ann-Marie Mcnulty from Donnyloop and the ‘Groom’ a Castlefin man, Brendan McGlinchey who have been terrific sports and have already created a buzz around the town with more craic surely to come. Ann Marie has already said ‘YES’ to the dress!
The committee is hoping to hear from musicians, florist, wedding suppliers/paraphernalia and/or printing businesses who would be able to get involved in any capacity.
Look out for updates via the ‘Smile for Jasmine’ fund and the Banjo Tavern via facebook/Instagram.
The ‘proposal’ will take place in Kirks bar this Saturday night and both Hen & Stag parties will be held in August with the main event taking place in September 21st. The committee are hoping to invite 120 guests with the capacity for more at the evening reception and the obligatory next day party.
