A major emergency rescue operation was launched on Saturday night after a young woman fell from a cliff at Tullan Strand in Bundoran.
The woman sustained serious but non life-threatening injuries after falling from the high Rougey cliffs and landing on the shore below. The alert was raised shortly after 3am in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred near the campsites of Sea Sessions music festival, which was taking place over the weekend in Bundoran.
A large number of emergency workers and volunteers rushed to the scene, including the Bundoran RNLI, Garda Siochana, Bundoran Fire Service, the National Ambulance Service, and Red Cross and Medilink.
The casualty was attended to by paramedics and stretchered off the beach on a Red Cross buggy. An ambulance was waiting at the top of the slope to bring the woman to hospital.

An RNLI lifeboat has been dispatched to the scene at 3.19am and arrived at the foot of the cliffs in minutes. As the young woman had hit the shore, the boat was not needed, but a senior advanced paramedic who was part of the lifeboat crew came ashore with assistance.
Speaking following the callout, RNLI volunteer helm James Cassidy said “I would like to commend the team work from all agencies in what was a particularly difficult location for the casualty. By working together we ensured her comfort and as quick a journey to hospital as possible. We wish her a speedy recovery.”
