DONEGAL DEBUTANT Odhrán McFadden-Ferry admits he felt overwhelmed as he burst from the dressing room for yesterday’s Ulster final.
McFadden-Ferry, one of the stars of Gaoth Dobhair’s Ulster-winning campaign in 2018, was one of the new faces drafted in by Donegal manager Declan Bonner following his club’s exit from the All-Ireland club race.
McFadden-Ferry had to bide his time until yesterday when he was handed a first Donegal appearance.
Thrown in at the deep end, initially with the job of shackling Martin Reilly, McFadden-Ferry showed little in the way of nerves.
“It’s mad to get on there in an Ulster final,” he told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub afterwards.
“It was some shock to come out there with that support.
“It’s a tight squad and I’m surprised I got it. It’s brilliant. Declan showed faith to put me on. I can’t believe it.”
