A superb point from a sideline free from Mark McHugh in injury time maintained Kilcar’s 100 per cent start to the league season.
Kilcar 0-15 St Michaels 1-11
In fact, the hosts trailed by a point in added time with Mark Sweeney levelling the match a minute before McHugh’s winner.
St Micheal’s scored the only goal of the match on six minutes when a long ball in found Edward O’Reilly who finished to the net.
The visitors also had two other goal chances with one coming off the post and the other flying inches wide the half time score was 0-7 to 1-4.
Weather conditions did not help either side all match.
With St Michaels leading by three points with eight minutes left Conor Doherty had a great goal chance but his shot hit the bar and went over. That was the best goal chance of the second half.
Both teams exchanged points and just when it looked like a draw would be the fair result up stepped McHugh with the winner for the second one-point win in a week for Cill Chartha against St Michaels.
