Donegal musician Rory Gallagher cheated death after his van was involved in a horrific crash yesterday.
The former Revs singer, famous for his “Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ anthem, crashed into a camper van.
The singer managed to crawl out of the van before it caught fire in the crash in Dunkineely.
Rory, from Kilcar, admitted that he is lucky to be alive.
He revealed his van hit a massive puddle and then spun across the road straight into a campervan.
“There was a huge smash. I was knocked out and thank God they tore down the partition in the van and got me out before it went on fire.
“The poor couple in the camper received leg injuries and I damaged my hand, hips and have severe whiplash.
“Everyone says I am lucky to be alive but I just feel so down, running through all the what ifs,” he said.
Rory has been forced to cancel a number of gigs in London this weekend.
But he vowed the crash will not stop him from playing on.
“Once I can move my hand and neck we will take it from there,” he said.
