A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Donegal as heavy downpours are set to strike the county.
Met Eireann has warned of a risk of localised flooding due to the incoming persistent rain.
Heavy bursts of rain are forecast from Wednesday evening and all of Thursday.
Rainfall amounts will be highest in coastal areas and on hills and mountains.
The Status Yellow warning is in place for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, from 2pm Wednesday until midnight on Thursday night.
This afternoon & evening will be mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most widespread across the northern half of the country, with some heavy bursts developing in parts of the west and northwest.
