A lorry fire in Lifford last week was believed to have been started maliciously, according to Gardaí.

The incident happened on the 23rd of May when gardaí and fire services received a report of a lorry on fire at Aughawee, Lifford at around 10.30 pm.

It is believed that the fire was started maliciously and substantial damage was caused to the lorry.

The lorry had been parked up and the doors were shut when parked but when the fire was discovered the door was found to be laying open.

Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to the criminal damage incident.

If anyone has seen anyone or any vehicles in that area that seemed to be out of the ordinary from 9 pm on that date then please contact Letterkenny Gardaí on 074-9167100 or on the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
