Amber Barrett hit a last-minute winner last night as Peamount United stayed five points clear at the top of the Women’s National League.
Barrett struck late in a 3-2 win over Galway having scored an earlier goal.
Megan Smyth-Nugent put Peamount ahead in the 17th minute and Barrett hammered home a penalty to double the lead.
Sinead Donovan gave Galway hope and the westerners were level when Meabh De Burca fired to the net.
Barrett had other ideas and the Milford woman’s 12th goal of the season keeps Peamount five clear at the summit.
