A special round of funding will be confirmed this week for equipment for Donegal sports clubs which will help take them to the next level.
Further allocations of major grants under Sports Capital are being assessed and due to be announced in September
The announcement was made by Minister Joe McHugh.
“Sports clubs are often the bedrock of a local community, bringing young people and parents together,” Minister McHugh said.
“And as well as these valuable ties they are also doing wonders for the health, fitness and wellbeing of people – something that you can’t put a price on.
“It’s brilliant to be able to celebrate Government support like we are announcing this week – funding of more than €500,000 for clubs all across Donegal.”
Minister McHugh thanked Government colleague and Minister for Sport and Tourism Brendan Griffin for his work in the area of Sports Capital.
“It’s important to remember that these really worthwhile equipment grants are just one part of the superb Sports Capital initiative,” Minister McHugh said.
