Killygordon National School received an Ulster-Scots Agency Flagship Award on Friday the 3rd of May from Gary Blair, the Education Officer at the Ulster-Scots Agency.
The school took part in the Ulster-Scots Flagship Programme that was a 30-week course where they engaged in all different kinds of music involving the snare drum, the tenor drum and also Scottish country dancing.
The Ulster-Scots Flagship School Programme is a cultural and educational programme and its aim is to support primary schools in the development of high quality educational and curriculum opportunities for children and young people to learn more about Ulster-Scots traditions and culture.
The programme has a range of themes to get children more involved in the culture and knowledge. The themes include music, dance, language and literature, history and geography, arts and science, drama and citizenship.
