Letterkenny Badminton Club ran a successful free Easter Badminton Camp for children between 7 and 15 years of age.
The camp ran from April 15-26 at the Aura Leisure Complex in Letterkenny.
More than 50 children attended the event, where they had the opportunity to be trained
for free by the professional coaches John Hunter, Wesley Knox (both Three Rivers Badmminton), Oscar Lim (Letterkenny Institute of Technology) and Previn Kutty (Letterkenny Badminton Club).
“The Easter Boot Camp was the start of a larger campaign called ‘Badminton to Schools’ in the Letterkenny area,” said Florian Moss, Letterkenny Badminton Club secretary.
“The campaign was started off by providing a free Badminton camp to children, we also got St. Eunans College ready for Badminton by providing them with gear as well as preparing their sports hall with the court markings.
“The next step is get in touch with the remaining schools in Letterkenny and discuss how we can help them, let it be in terms of gear, coaching or information about the sport.”
