There are again calls for Irish Water to lay a new water main from Ballindrait to Tober following the latest outage today.
This is the fifth time in the last fortnight for an outage. Crews responded to the burst pipe today.
It follows a similar incident yesterday and three times last week residents and business owners experienced the same problem.
“I have met Irish water almost monthly and presented them with a petition,” Coucillor Gerry Crawford said.
“The petition highlights the concerns of the local people, which this line is meant to bring a water supply to, but it is not doing so..
“New pipe works locally are making worse the position on this pipeline. The matter needs to be taken seriously
“I am repeating my call to Irish water to lay a new water main.
“This line serves the area’s biggest problem and this has happened on many occasions over a long period of time.”
