The gaelscoil in Donegal Town – Gaelscoil na gCeithre Maistrí – has been approved to go to detailed design, the Minister for Education has announced.
Minister Joe McHugh made the announcement this evening.
“I have visited the school on a number of occasions both as Minister for Gaeilge and Minister for Education,” said the Donegal TD.
“The school is currently housed in portacabins and it’s important for the school community that the building project moves forward as soon as possible.
“To that end, my officials have confirmed today that the project has moved onto the significant Stage 2a – which means the detailed design can now take place. I’m very hopeful that the planning application will be able to follow later this year.
“Tá lúchair orm an scéal seo a chur in iúl d’fhoireann na scoile go bhfuil an dul chun cinn seo déanta go Céim 2a, agus tá súil agam go mbeidh tuilleadh dul chun cinn níos moille i mbliana.
“I want to pay tribute to the staff, parents and board of management at the school for their incredible resolve and commitment to the pupils and to our language.”
