Declan Bonner praised the manner of Donegal’s turnaround in this evening’s Division 2 final at Croke Park.
Donegal came from eight points down to overcome Meath and take hold of the silverware.
Powered by a masterful display by Michael Murphy, Donegal shook their heads clear after being 1-6 to 0-1 behind after just 12 minutes and Jamie Brennan’s goal on 57 minutes took them across the line.
“The second half performance was excellent,” Bonner told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“Once we started and got to grips in the middle third, the whole 15 really contributed. The panic button wasn’t pressed at any stage and it was a controlled performance in the second half.
“The manner of the win was important. Being eight points down here, a lot of young lads could fold very easily. But we stuck in and dug out a few scores in the second half.”
