Greg Bolger’s late strike after 85 minutes broke Finn Harps hearts in Ballybofey on Friday as Shamrock Rovers went seven-points clear at the top of the SSE Airtricity League.
Ollie Horgan’s well-drilled young side more than held their own against high-calibre opponents, unlucky to lose out in the manner they did after defending well for most of the game.
Speaking to Donegal Daily’s Charlie Collins, Finn Harps assistant manager Paul Hegarty admitted the squad was disappointed not to achieve at least a point on the night.
“Yeah, we are disappointed,” Hegarty said. “I have said already that it was probably our decision making that let us down tonight.
“We had a few opportunities ourselves as well in the first half, we got into great positions and we just didn’t pick the right pass.”
