On the occasion of his 100th Donegal appearance, Paddy McGrath was just delighted to help steer Donegal to a valuable win over Cork.
McGrath came off the bench to hit the century of games in the Tir Chonaill colours as Donegal came from five down to win 1-19 to 1-12 at Pairc Ui Rinn.
“I’m delighted to make the 100, but more important to get the result,” the 2012 All-Ireland winner said.
“It wasn’t looking great at half-time, but the boys upped the ante in the second half and we pushed on from there. We’re delighted to get the result down here.”
McGrath was sent into the fray at half-time, when Cork were leading by five.
The Ardara man said: “We didn’t put down the heads. They got the goal at a bad time and we went in five down, but boys kept ticking away. We got momentum then in the second half. We needed to win to try to get promotion.”
The Donegal defender spoke to Ocean FM’s Paddy McGill after the game. Listen to the full interview below …
