A three-man gang have attempted to carry out a burglary at the Supervalu supermarket in Dungloe overnight.
The gang entered the building after they made a hole in the side of the building.
However, it is understood the gang left empty-handed a short time later.
The gang may have been disturbed.
The supermarket was also broke into in September 2017 and a large quantity of alcohol and cigarettes stolen.
A Garda spokesman told Donegal Daily “Gardaí are investigating a burglary which occurred at a shop in Dungloe between 11pm on 10th March and 2am on 11th March 2019.
“Three males entered the building through a hole they created in a wall. They left the scene shortly after, it is not believed anything was stolen in this incident.
“No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.”
