A significant new building project for Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht has been announced.
The extension will see four new classrooms installed, old prefabs taken off-site, and the development of a new science lab.
Speaking on Friday, Joe McHugh said: “Táim thar a bheith sásta a bheith sa ghaeltacht i nDún na Gall inniu agus a bheith abálta an dea-scéal a thabhairt don fhoireann i bPobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair.
“It gives me great pleasure to use my visit to Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair today to let all the staff, pupils and parents that a major building project has got the green light.
“The school will get four new classrooms, old prefabs will be taken off the site, a new science lab will be developed and a special education base as well as new toilets with disabled access and shower.”
Minister McHugh visited Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair to confirm the news of the investment.
He added: “It is a fitting way to repay the efforts of the staff and students at Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair who continue to excel.”
