A spokeswoman for Aurivo has confirmed the company has been unsuccessful in the e-tender contract process for milk supplies to HSE outlets in the West and North West including Donegal.
Aurivo had been supplying milk to this part of the HSE area in recent years.
The new contract has gone to the BWG group with headquarters at Tallaght in Dublin.
The spokeswoman at Aurivo told the Tirconail Tribune that Donegal dairy farmers will not be affected since less than 1% of their former Donegal Creameries base in Killygordon had been involved as part of their contract.
The spokeswoman declined to comment on the impact of losing this contract saying ‘it is sensitive information’.
However, she said that Aurivo’s milk business has grown substantially year on year since 2014 and their suppliers can look forward to a positive future with their company.
Aurivo is the largest multipurpose co-operative in the West of Ireland, with business in consumer foods, dairy ingredients and retail stores.
