Ballyshannon man Cathal Gallagher will get his moment to shine tonight when his incredible time on Operation Transformation comes to an end.

The inspirational paramedic has experienced many highs and lows on an emotional health journey in the RTE lifestyle show.

Cathal will discover just how much his hard work has paid off tonight as he takes to the catwalk to celebrate his achievements.

After being on the Operation Transformation plan for 8 weeks, Cathal’s health and fitness transformation has well and truly begun.  He has dropped 46lb from his starting weight and overcome many obstacles relating to food, exercise and self esteem.

The 48-year-old started off as Operation Transformation’s heaviest leader of all time at 26st 10lb (170 kg).

Motivated by his wife Agi (36) and daughter Maja (2), Cathal had set out to be a good example for his family. In turn, he inspired many others across Donegal to get moving and led a successful walk through his hometown on National Walks Day in January.

This series also saw Letterkenny woman Nikki Bradley joining the team as a challenge coordinator. The adaptive adventurer added a new perspective to overcoming obstacles and motivated the leaders through various tasks.

Excitement is building for the final episode of Operation Transformation tonight, which airs on RTE One at 9.35pm.

Now, all that Cathal needs to do is decide which shoes to wear on the catwalk!
