A new report has shown that Donegal has Ireland’s lowest number of drivers with penalty points on their licence.
Some 12,885 (12.9%) of licence holders in the county had penalty points in 2017, according to the Central Statistics Office.
This was the lowest proportion in Ireland, while Wexford had the highest proportion of drivers with penalty points, at 21.5%, followed by Galway with 20.5% and Kildare and Kilkenny with 20.4% each.
The figures were released as part of the Regional SDGs Ireland 2017 report by the CSO studying 70 indicators on regional life in Ireland.
