A HR Team client is now seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer for a leading manufacturing company based in the North West.

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company and its employees comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to in the workplace.
We are looking for candidates who will be able to use their knowledge and skills to promote a positive health and safety culture within our Company.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be minimised
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards
- Carry out regular workplace inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
- Investigate and record accidents in the workplace and ensure remedial actions are put in place
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with the legislation
- Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins
- Be proficient with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of legislation and any developments that affect the company’s industry
Essential Criteria:
- The ideal candidate will be qualified in Health & Safety with 2+ years’ experience in a similar environment
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in order to explain health and safety processes to a range of people and to give presentations to groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel package required
- The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately
- Strong ability to work under pressure as it is a fast-paced environment
- Good determination and motivation to work towards and achieve deadlines
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience within the manufacturing sector
The ideal candidate will be diligent and able to work in a fast-paced environment with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. They will have a strong interest in working will all parts of the company environment and will be able to communicate with other staff members regarding issues identified during workplace inspections to ensure that the health and safety standards of our workplace is impeccable.
