A three-day national strike by 40,000 nurses – due to begin tomorrow – has now been called off.
There are no details at this stage if the nurses have received a pay settlement which they were seeking.
It means that there will be no pickets outside Donegal hospitals this week.
More than 40,000 nurses were due to strike on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
It follows the Labour Court’s formal intervention to resolve the pay row earlier today.
It called the nursing unions and government officials to a hearing at 3.30pm.
The INMO executive met at 5.30pm to consider the proposals.
Health Minister Simon Harris has welcomed the move.
