Declan Bonner says Donegal have to up their game on Sunday if they’re to come back from Thurles with a third Division 2 win of the campaign.
Donegal are top of the table following wins against Clare and Meath, but Bonner says his men will have to show improvement against Tipperary.
“Tipperary have been in the top ten and have been looking to break into the Super 8s,” Bonner told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.
“We’ve had a lot of positives. We go to Tipperary with a degree of confidence, but knowing that we have to play better.”
A Caolan McGonagle goal, eleven minutes from the end, was the spur for a 1-13 to 0-14 win over Meath in Ballybofey on Saturday.
Bonner said: “Too often and too easily, we got the ball turned over. That’s something we’re looking at. We rode our luck on Saturday night when we went four points down, but the positive thing was that we stayed in the match.
“We have finished out matches strongly – something that we didn’t do last year.”
