Manus Kelly and Donall Barrett will compete in the 2019 Irish Tarmac Championship in a Hyundai i20 R5.
A statement from MK Rally has confirmed that the Glenswilly-Milford duo, who have won the Donegal International Rally in each of the last three years, will take part in all seven Championship rounds.
MK Rallying has also renewed their sponsorship agreement with Applegreen.
Kelly and Barrett won their Donegal International hat-trick in a Melvyn Evans-hired Impreza, but will compete in 2019 in the Hyundai i20, supplied and run by Philip Case’s PCRS Motorsport.
This week also saw confirmation that MK Rallying has secured the support of German based Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing.
“With PCRS, Applegreen and Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing all signed up, together with other sponsors, this has given us a solid platform to plan a full programme for 2019,” Kelly said.
“This is a dream come true for Donall and I, to be competing in the Championship which in itself has taken a huge step forward in 2019 in terms of the quality of competition.
“Donall and I can’t wait to get started this weekend at the Galway International.
“Donall and I would like to sincerely thank the entire MK Rallying team for their continued support, for without them this championship entry simply would not have been possible.
“Also, to our family, friends and fans, your encouragement and loyalty have always been appreciated. Finally, we wish everyone travelling a safe and enjoyable trip to Galway this weekend.”
The Irish Tarmac Rally Championship has a total of seven rounds including the Donegal International in June and the Killarney Rally of the Lakes in May which they also won last year.
