Donegal fans who braved the icy conditions last night saw their side dig deep to defeat Meath in Ballybofey.
Caolan McGonagle scored a 59th minute goal for Donegal, who kept Meath scoreless for 20 minutes at the end.
Donegal were behind 0-8 to 0-7 at half-time and Meath led by four points for a period in the second half.
It was a night for treading carefully given the underfoot conditions and Donegal were skating on thin ice at that point.
